ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A NATIVE DROWNED. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) GISBORNE, Aug. 18. While fording the Mata River in high flood a native named Taraherta was swept from his horse and drowned. CHILD FATALLY SCALDED. GISBORNE, Aug. 18. Ronald Gordon Thac-kwells, aged 13 months, was fatally scalded, through upsetting over himself a cup of hot cocoa.
