SMART THEFT.
ROLL OF NOTES FROM BANK. CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. SYDNEY, Aug 17. A daring theft took place at the Pitt Street branch of the Australian Bank of Commerce yesterday. Just before closing time, when the bank was crowded, the teller placed a roll of two hundred £1 notes on the counter, .and suddenly a hand shot out and grabbed the roll, the man rushing from the building. He was chased, but escaped.
