At the Magistrate’s Court, Francis Jones Hodges, a farm labourer, 'appeared charged with making a false document by splitting a i,en -skilling Bank of New Zealand note and uttering it to a shopkeeper with intent to be acted on as genuinei Accused was further charged with passing a split-pound note to another man. Accused pleaded not guilty and was committed for. trial.
