THE SOUTHERN POLITICIANS.
AN INDIGNANT AUCKLAND Eli. The Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association has lost, one member as a result of what the member terms the determination of the Hon.. W. Nosworthy to carry out his regulations about; cattle tick. (says, an exchange). The writer of the letter, which was read at. Friday’s meeting of the A. and P, Association, is a- prominent exhibitor living at Whangarei, and in the course of his letter he said he did not intend to exhibit any cattle at the next show, and, that being so, he asked to be crossed off the list of members of the. association.
“T suppose you will want another guinea from me, but that will be the last,” said the writer. “I am sorry to leave you, but if an association like the Auckland A. and P. Association cannot protect its members against these southern politicians, who are simply: playing to the southern gallery and pretending to protect them from cattle ticks, what’s the use of being a. member ? I sent a.- truckload of goats to Wesley College at Paerata the other day and found there was no restriction on. goats, although they might bcV tick-infected. That will show you what a. howling farce the regulations are.”
