WOMAN KILLED.

SON INJURED. CAR DROPS FORTY FEET. (BY TELEGRAPH-—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 11. A motor accident which occurred on the Mangaroa hill late on Friday night resulted in the death of Mrs. Mary Alexander, of pears that a. motor car containing three passengers—the deceased, her son (Henry Alexander, a farmer of Wallaceville), and J. Mahar —left Upper Hutt on Friday evening for Mangaroa station. After the car began to- make the ascent it was discovered that the benzine was low, and to obviate trouble the car was backed up the hill in the darkness. It ran over the bank and fell about forty feet. Mrs. Alexander was killed and her son was injured.
