At a meeting of directors of the Melrose Dairy Co. on Saturday, Mr D. J. "Williams was appointed chairman. Mr. "W. C. Green (chairman of the Egmont County Council), who has been in Wellington on county business, returned by Saturday night’s mail train. Mr. J. R. Corrigan, M.P. f<j r Patca, returned to Taranaki )>v Saturday’s mail train.
Mr. Charles H. Ainsworth, with previous experience at Bradford, Edinburgh and Glasgow Exhibitions, lias been appointed manager of the Dunedin Exhibition (says a London cable).
The Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout, who is to preside at the session of the Supreme. Court which opens to-morrow, arrived in Now Plymouth last week.
The members of the Prisons Board (Sir Donald McGavin. Mr. C. E. Matthews, Controller of Prisons), Mr. Wm. Reece, and Mr. J. Sniythc, secretary) arrived in New' Plymouth by the mail train on Saturday night.
