AGRICULTURE.
TWO COLLEGES FOR NORTH ISLAND. ADMISSION BY PREMIER. (by telegraph—press association.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 8. Just before the financial debate closed in the House to-night, Air Massey said he believed there should be two agricultural colleges in the North Island. In the north there was plenty of suitable land. Mr J. I{. Corrigan (Patea): We could find you land for one in Taranaki. Air Alassey: They are so skilful there they really don’t need one. Air Corrigain Oh, yes they do. Air A. J. Murdoch (Marsden): And in North Auckland, too. Air Massey thought something should he done very soon. Sir Waller Buchanan had given £IO,OOO to the cause of the advancement of agriculture, and before he died he had arranged to' cover it with another £IO,OOO.
