(From Our Own Correspondent.) HALL COMMITTEE. Tlie Awatuna. Hall Committee have held several meetings of late to consider proposals of alterations and improvements to the. hall. At the last meeting a contract was given to Mr. Briggs, Kaponga, for the election of two dressing rooms and a. main passage entrance attached to the front of the present building. The erection will be commenced as soon as the timber is on the site. The committee have effected repairs to the large windows in the hall room, and will undertake repairs and remodelling of the supper-rooms, roof, etc., the cost of which is at present under review. The old piano has been sold and a new instrument purchased. A snecial cover for the piano has been ordered. Quotations for painting the building arc being obtained. DANCE. A dance was held last Wednesday evening in aid of the hall funds, and considering the stormy night and counter-attractions. the attendance was satisda.cf.ory. Excellent music was supplied by Miss and Air. Collins, and the duties of M.C. were entrusted to Air. T. Haworth. The committee wish to thank the ladies who provided the supper. •
