Dr. D. M. Mitchell, of Huntervillo. h;is been elected to represent-the northern ward on the Wanganui Education Doard, defeating; Mr. A. J. Joblin, of laihape, by .six votes. Dr. Mitchell has been for some time a member of the local school committee, and his good "oik on that body is sufficient guarantee that the more important duties attached to the Jiew office will be carried out ably and well.
