An aeroplane inspection of the flooded areas around Pekin and Tien-tsin showed that tne river, which yesterday reached the maximum of the lull floou, was perilously near the top of the dykes. The railways were tnreatened and most villages above the flood level, but farmers on the. lower lands are heavy sufferers.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Hsilio dyke burst this morning near lang-liu-ening, flooding a depression to the southward between the grand canal and Hsiho. The immediate result is that the river at Tientsin is afoot lower, and it is anticipated that this relief will continue for four days, when the depression will be filled. The water is expected then to burst, the grnnd canal dykes and flow seaward. Heavy rains continue up country, and Tientsin reports 2-3 inches of rainfall this morning.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn
