A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
PROPOSED “STOCK DRIVE” POSTPONED. A meeting of the committee appointed by the Egmont A. and P. Association to organise the proposed “stock drive” was held on Saturday, when, there were present ; Messrs. D. S. Richardson (chair), C. H. Washer, W. MeL’Dowie, H. Middleton, D. Crocker, S. C. Tonics, A. Lankow, F. Hoskin, B. C, Gibson, A. L. Campbell, H. E. Johnson, and B. C. Lysaght. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. J. F. Stevenson. J. C. Duff and T. Wilson. Mr. Tonics explained that at the present time there was not suitable stock available, whereas if the drive were held in January -she average dairyman would have cull cows, etc.,, that he would be prepared to donate; and also, whereas the sheep farmer would at present hesitate to give a sheep in full wool, he would not mind parting with the carcase after the fleece had been taken off. Messrs. Gibson and MeL’Dowie expressed similar views, and after a full discussion the committee decided to adjourn the stock drive until'the second week in December.
