The usual monthly meeting Avas held in the Methodist Bible Class room on July 31. Mrs Tait presided over a large attendance. A vote of sympathy was passed with Mrs Tonks in her sad bereavement. A social afternoon bad been arranged, it being the president’s silver wedding anniversary. The Mayoress, in a feiv av ell-chosen Avords, congratulated Mrs Tait, and presented her with a beautiful bouquet. It was decided to bold a shop day in October. The president spoke of the treasured memory of tile loyal workers who had been called to higher service, urging members to labour, fight, work ""ami pray on till the victory comes. A committee was formed to make final arrangements for the social Lo be held in the Presbyterian Hall. Six yie-AV members were, initiated. Mrs Bone read a short paper explaining to mem belts the necessity of attending the regular meeting for “Unity is Strength.” A parcel of clothing Avas received for the hrancis ."Wilhvrd Home. Mrs Grinrod sang a solo, and the meeting closed with the benediction.
