— NAURU OUTPUT. DOMINION INTERESTS. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. 1 . AUCKLAND, Aug 1. Referring to the recent cablegram in reference to Nauru Island phosphates, Mr A. F. Ellis, New Zealand representative; on the British Phosphate Commission, said it was in no sense correct to say that a deadlock had been reacli£ii Zealand Government was fully posted as to the situation and the Dominion’s interests were beino- safeguarded. He also mentioned that the details of the proposed developments were the subject of negotiations between the various commissioners, who were in communication with each other, and there was every reason to hope that the outcome would be satisfactory to all interests. A London cable this week stated : The Australian Press Association has been authoritively informed that newspaper cables from Australia imputing recalcitrancy by the British Government in reference to Nauru, resulting iu a deadlock, are wholly unfounded? It i s also untrue that the agreement between Britain, Australia and New Zealand Rill expire in 1925. The agreement is perpetual, but the allocation of the output from Nauru i s reviewable at live-yearly periods, the first of which is 1925. ADEQUATE SUPPLIES "WELLINGTON, Aug. 1. Replying to a question in the House the Minister for Agriculture (Hon. . . Nosworthy) said he did not anticipate any difficulty in arranging with the British Government for the delivery of all the Nauru phosphates New Zealand might require.
