Attention was. drawn in the House ot Commons to Empire settlement ureaus and an offer of assisted pa.ssages to Australia to carpenters bricklayers plasterers, masons and ’plumbers. Ihe suggestion was made that these men should not- be encouraged to emigrate in view of the importance of the retention of skilled men for housebuilding. M b W Lunn (Secretary of the Oversea Trade Department) said he considered interference, unnecessary.
