The American Legation has not re*ceived the Persian Government’s reply to the American Note regarding the murder of Imbrie, but- a newspaper publishes a letter from the Foreign Minister, to the American Minister, in which he says: ‘‘The Government- and the nation are horrified, and every endeavour is being made to find the culprits, who will be severely punished. The Government willingly consents to the transfer of the remains of Imbrie across Persia for embarkation on an American warship, and to defray the expenses in that connection, and to pay compensation to the widow. It is considering guarantees of the security of American citizens.—Reuter.
