It is expected that a Ministerial announcement will shortly be made that the Government has decided temporarily to suspend the erection of a superpower wireless station at Kliphcurvel, to give the Wireless Company of South Africa air opportunity of demonstrating the effectiveness of the new directional beam system. If the trials are satisfactory the station now being erected, which wa lS to have been the largest in the .world, with 750 kilowatts, will o? ,W y or P ar tly superseded by a kilowatt station, which it is claimed mil work at a higher speed and with greater secrecy—Aus.-N.Z.
