BUTTER BOXES.

— ♦ ■ EXPORTATION OF WHITE PINE. SHOULD BE RESTRICTED. The National Dairy Association will wait upon Sir Francis Bell to-morrow with a request that the exportation of white pine should cease or be restricted. It is stated that an increasing demand for this wood for butter boxes and cheese crates is anticipated, but. it is urged that this attitude is not consistent, as information has .just, been received of a case in which an important dairy factory has just, sold 50,000 feet, of while pine for.export, and the same firm is buying- Swedish boxes for its own use. It is also urged that in America, a score of woods are used for making butter boxes, and that too much white pine is being exported from the Dominion.
