WAR FUNDS.
ANNUAL MEETING OF COUNCIL. (BA' TfiLECP AT»tt uw.F.flQ XPSOnTATIO'N' ' WELLINGTON, July 19. At the annual meeting of the War Funds Council the accounts showed that the funds now total £117.319. A financial statement .was submitted showing the patriotic funds held in the Dominion at latest, advices . to. be £952,424, and the British Red Cross and Order of St. John had investments and property of £188.958. It was explained that- the fund held 'by the. canteen board now amounted to £105,591, and that it was the policy of the board to keen this fund intact until it reached £200,000. when the question of disposal would be considered. In the meantime assistance to soldiers would be rendered by district patriotic societies.
