TAXING LUXURIES. BY C4.BLS--PEESS ASSOCIATION—COP HEIGHT Received July 18, 11.35 a.m - . TGKIO, July 17. The Upper House passed the supplementary estimates and the luxuries tariff. It is understood that the tariff will be effective from the date of promulgation, which at present is not fixed. The Diet also approved of the appropriation of 6,500,000 yen for the establishment of an Institute of Culture Museum at Pekin and Shanghai respectively forth© furtherance of ChinoJapanese friendship.—Reuter.
