DAIRYMEN ! There is, of course, an ever increasing necessity for the dairying community to constantly improve their herds so as to obtain maximum production, and towards this end attention, is directed to a sale of high grade, 2-year-old Jersey heifers, advertised in our auction columns to’ take place to-mor-row' (Friday), 18th inst., when seventv selected animals will be offered by the 2mew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., at their Palmer road saleyards on behalf of Mr Frederick Hoskin, of Matapu. Mr Hoskin is an experienced and well-known Jersey breeder, whose stock have been prominent in most North Island show rings, and during the last fourteen years he has also built up a herd of Jerseys well known throughout the province as an exceptional one, with strains of famous butter-fat sires. It is from this herd that the bulk of the heifers now being offered are bred. The vendor’s intention is now to hold only annual sales, therefore no heifers have so far been disposed of out of this herd, and buyers have an opportunity of securing their requirements from a representative selection of • first-class stock.
