CAPTATN AND SON DROWNED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT HOBART, July 14. At the inquest on Captain Sproule and his son Vernon, who were drowned when the ketch Mystery heeled over in a squall, Algv Sproule, another son, gave evidence that when the boat capsized he shouted to his father and his brother, who were asleep in a cabin below. He heard his father scream as the boat heeled, completely flooding the cabin. The diver who recovered the bodies gave evidence that the captain was clasping his son in his arms. He had evidently awakened and aroused his son. but was overwhelmed in the act of forcing the slide. A verdict was returned of accidental death.
