Hides.—Our catalogue comprised some good freezer lines, but- the market was by no means animated and much irregularity took place. . Kip and yearling * j were decidedly easier, calf selling at 'about on-a par with late rates.
Tallow.—Prices generally were on a par, but for. best quality values at times tended in sellers’ favour. WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Hamilton, report : Beef.—There is a firm demand for all classes of prime beef, but a lot of unfinished cpw-s are coming forward and the demand is not keen for this class. Mutton.—The yardings are small and prices firm, the local butchers absorbing all that are yarded in the'different markets. Store Sheep.—A good inquiry exists for classes, the yardings .being small, but good sales have been taking place in the paddocks, especially for breeding ewes and hoggets. f Store Cattle.—The market for all classes of scores is very dull, the yardings consisting mostly of store cows and yearling heifers, with practically no good young steers. Pigs.—Prices for all classes of fats have been, if anything, a little better, with yardings not so big. There is a keen demand for all classes of stores. ' Dairy Cattle. —Good tested herds are finding buyers at fair prices although not as good as last season, but unless tested the / averages have been low. There is a fair demand for good heifers, but inferior s orts are not wanted. Horses.—There is still a good inquiry for both heavy draught and good farm sorts, light horses being dull of sale.
