RAILWAY OFFICERS.
- - CONFERENCE CONCLUDED. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.! WELLINGTON, Tune 27. The members of the annual conference of the Railway Officers’ Institute were received as a deputation by Mr. R. W. McViliy (general manager) and Mr. H. W. Sterling (assistant general manager), when matters affecting the first division members of the railway service were freely and fully discussed. Mr. McViliy congratulated the conference on the policy of constitutional action adopted in connection with industrial disputes. On resuming, the conference decided that the executive committee should continue negotiations on the question of increases in. salaries.
The following officers were elected: President. Mr. J. 11. Robertson (Petone); vice-presidents. Messrs V. R. J. Stanley (South Auckland), R. S. Skinner (Auckland), W. J. Smith (North Canterbury); executive committee, Messrs M. Vance. A. J. Coleman, F. E. Hunt. A. N. Lougton, E. W. Rarnes, J. Hayes, A. S. Henderson; treasurer. Mr. L. Barclay; auditors, Messrs H. Valentine and P. M. Muir. Messrs M. J. Forde and E. Williams, retiring members of the executive committee, did not seek re-election. The conference has concluded.
