HORRIBLE CRIME.

Franchetti, aged 50, an Italian resident of Paris, finding that his young wife liad left him for r. youthful admirer named Pierre, sought the latter at a hotel and shot him. He then mutilated the body with a knife. The terrified wife barricaded herself in a neighbouring room, . but Franchetti smashed jn the- door, shot her, and slashed her thoat, despite the presence of a boy aged two and a half years. The police found him trying to clean the bloodstaine from his son’s face and hair.
