A wireless message has been received by the American Legation from Wanshien confirming the death of Hawley, following upon, a dispute with junkermen. The message states that the commander of the British gunboat Cockchafer, acting with commendable vigor and promptitude under threat of bombardment of the city, compelled the leading military authorities to follow Hawley’s college afoot to the. grave, and also to execute the two principal junkermen.
