A PLAYER'S COMPLAINT. 8? CABLE—PSB3S ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT LONDON, June 22. The cricketer Parkin, in his weekly article in the newspaper Dispatch, caused a isen.sa.tion. in cricket circles by strong comments upon Gilligan’s failure to use. him on the last morning of the South African test match. He says that while (iilligan made many changes in the bowling he (Parkin) was standing at mid-off wondering why he had been overlooked, seeing he had got the top bowling averages this season. He never felt so hnmilated in his whole cricket career. Me adds: “1 can take the. rough with the smooth with anybody, hut T will not stand being treated as on Tuesday. I should not he fair to myself if 1 accepted an invitation 1o play in any further test — not that I. expect to receive an invitation. Cilligan declined the Dispatch’s request to discuss the matter, saying: “Parkin is entitled to his comments, and Ito mine. That is all lam suing to saw" "
