RADIO MESSAGES.
THE BEAM RAY. IMPORTANT TESTS. Received June 16, 9.30 a.m. BUEINOS AYRES, June 14. Trans-radio international officials announce that the radio beam ray communication between Poldhu station, Cornwall, England, and Buenos Ayres was radio-telegraphic, not telephonic as reported from London. The message was received after a. successful test, which William Marconi conducted for two days with the local station on wave lengths of ninety-four metres. Officials assert that success over such a long distance means that high power stations are no longer necessary for radio communications. They expect that soon all the stations of the four big allied international companies will be equipped with the radio reflectors essential to the beam ray system, so that each may communicate with ’any of the others directly and exclusively. The receiving apparatus here, is of special construction, having three lamps and small cylindrical antennae. The distance from Poldhu to Buenos Ayres is 6333 miles.—Reuter.
