PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES. SUPPORT FOR M. PAINLEVE. BY CABLE- -PBSBB ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT PARIS, June 12. Disliking the prospect of a President I icing elected with votes from the Right Party, the Left Group requested both MM. Doumergue and Painleve to withdraw in favour of a third candidate. The former refused, whereupon the Left Bloc decided to solidly support M. Painleve. In refusing an influential deputation M. Doumergue explained that his friends were nominating him for the Presidency. This decision is the more serious because, if M. Doumergue is elected with the help of the Right, and Centre Parties, M. Herriot may refuse to form a Ministry under M. Doumergue.
