She was leaking badly, and the boats were launched, but all were swamped by the heavy seas, there being only three survivors. It is believed that 32 perished. DELHI, June 11. As a result of the riots in Calcutta 10 were killed and several badly injured. All day small crowds of coolies and superstitious workmen in all parts of the city attacked taxi drivers. Several were beaten to death. Taxis were fired on in the open streets. WASHINGTON, June 11. The announcement has been made by. the Navy Department that the entire United States fleet will mobilise and manoeuvre off the Hawaiian Islands in the coming winter. Following the manoeuvres, 12 first line battleships are likely to go to Australia and New Zealand. Mobilisation begins in January. —Sydney Sun Cables. NEW YORK, June 11. Ten bandits held up a customs truck, knocked the driver unconscious, and escaped with 27 packages of precious stones, which were being transferred from the post office to the appraisers’ stores.—Ans.-N.Z. The ex-Premier, who was defending the capital, escaped with all the members of the Government and their partisans, and have gone to Italy. All the country is in the hands of the Nationalists. The revolution has practically! ended.—Reuter. CAPETOWN, June 10. A locust invasion from the Kalahari desert is assuming alarming dimensions. Some swarms are twenty-five iniles in extent. Motor trollies are being sent to Kalahari with poison supplies.
