OPERA HOUSE-TO-NIGHT. “THE "WORLD’S APPLAUSE. “The "World’s Applause,” a new William de Mille production for Paramount, featuring Bebe Daniels and Lewis Stone, opened at the Opera House last evening. Bebe Daniels has the role of Corinne d’Alys, a successful artist of the stage, whose high place has been largely due to her insatiable search lor publicity. Lewis Stone- is seen as “John Elliot,” a dramatic producer who becomes enmeshed in emotional srthations of compelling force from his sister, Mrs Elsa Townsend (Kathlyn "Williams) allows jealousy of her artist husband (Adolphe Menjou) to drag them all into a quagmire of scandal. The picture is dramatic and thrilling. Included in the supporting programme is an excellent Mack Sennet Comedy, “Sweetheart Days.’-’
