MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close for the under-mentioned places as follows For United Kingdom, etc., via San Francisco, on Wednesday, 22nd Inst., at 8.20 a.m. For Australian Colonies, via Wellington, Thursday, 23rd inst., at 8.20 a.m. HOLIDAYS. Christmas Day and New Year's Day will be observed as close holidays, and mails which would otherwise close on those days will be closed at 8 p.m. on the 24th and 31st respectively. On Boxing Day the office will be open in all its branches from 9 to 10 a.m., and mails will be despatched as usual up to the latter hour. There will be one delivery by carriers on this day. For Telegraphic purposes the office will open from 9 to 10 a.m., and from 7 to 8 p.m. on each of the above days. S. F. Haszard, Postmaster.
