The Employers Federation has postponed the preliminary meeting of the conference which was to have taken place to-day between the representatives of employers and the engineers. Mr Ritchie says that both sides are hiclined to approach each other in a conciliatory spirit. If they do not, agree upon a chairman satisfactory to both parties they will be willing to appoint a chairman for each side.
