Wellington, This day. THE ESTIMATES. The Premier, it is said, intends to force the remaining clauses of the Estimates, eleven in number, through at one sitting. This means that he is endertaking a big contract, as some of the classes, for instance the police, defence, and land valuation, in connection with which many charges of bribery and corruption have been preferred against the Government, are certainly matters of a highly debatable character, and, moreover, it is understood that the Opposition and Independent Liberals are determined to let as much light as possible into these Estimates, and it is safe to hazard the opinion that the sitting commencing at 7.30 to-morrow evening will be even more protracted than either of the long continuous sittings of the past fortnight. MAIL SERVICES. The Cabinet are considering the question of subsidies to mail services. Mr James Mills, on behalf of the 'Frisco service and Thel Huddart, and Grayson (Australian manager for Huddart and Co) representing the Vancouver service, are at present in town.
