Captain Edwin wired this afternoon : Wind between north and west and south-west at all places northward of Napier and New Plymouth and southward of Lyttelton and Hokitika and between north-east and north and west at all other places. Barometer further fall everywhere, but rising at all places southward of Timaru and Queenstown after 12 hours. Westerly gales probably with rain are to be expected at all places south of Gisborne and New Plymouth.
