At a meeting of the creditors of Samaul Adams, storekeeper, Paeroa, who has been arrested on a charge of arson, the creditors resolved to ask the official assignee to take steps to prosecute him under the penalty clauses of the Act in connection with his books. The Assignee stated a charge of perjury Avas also to be laid against Adams in connection Avith his alleged loss of his ledger, which was recovered on the beach.. At the Thames last week the richest find of ore at the Woodstock mine, Karangahake, yet obtained was made. One ton of ore containing coarse gold sent for treatment by wet process yielded £126 yesterday.
