[By Gifsy Grand.] Haria, Miss Emmy, Acone and Day Star left Auckland to-day for Hastings. The Guineas candidate, Multiform, in charge of 11. Dei-rot t, arrived last eveir'ng. The son of Hotel ikiss is looking very well hut has not grown much since last seen in Hastings. He has not yet been extended in public, and his chance of victory next Monday looks right good. Defiance is reported to be wrong, and it is improbable that he will fulfil any of his engagements. \Vait-a-]jit, first favorite for the Melbourne Cup, has been scratched for that event. This will cause a loud wail among backers. Interesting par from last night's Telegraph —" Sarda is suffering from strangles and will be an unlikely starter for the C'up.' The Napier buster is a long way behind the times. Sard a's death was recorded in the Standard last Saturday. The tracks are very soft owing to the recent rain, and no work of importance was done this morning.
