STODDART'S TEAM.
SAIL FOR AUSTRALIA. THE BEST ELEVEN THAT HAS LEFT ENGLAND. {Per Press Association.—(,'ttpyright.) London, Sept. 19. A large crowd, including many prominent cricketers, took farewell of Stoddart team at St. Pancreas station, and there was much cheering. The Hon. Ivo Bligh, C. T. Thornton, Vernon Lock wood, Brockwell, A. E. Trott, and O'Halloran accompanied the team to Tilbury Docks. Prince Ranjitsinjhi joins the team at Naples. Before leaving, and in reply to the toast of his health, Mr Stoddart said he knew a severe task lay before him, but was hopeful as to the results of the test matches. He regretted not being accompanied by some who helped to the success of the 189-3 tour, especially mentioning Ward and Brown. The new men in the team had great claims to inclusion, and he hoped they would do themselves full justice. He did not claim that the team represented England, but considered it one of the best all-round elevens that had ever gone to the colonies.
