Another Victory for the Bookies.
A WRONGFUL CONVICTION. [By Telegraph.] (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, This day. -Judge Williams gave judgment on the argument to squash the conviction of Robert Price for trespass on the Forbury racecourse. The Judge decided that warning given on a Thursday was not applicable to trespass on the Saturday in the same week. He said it was impossible to hold that trespass on the Saturday was anything else than an entirely new trespass. The circumstance that the land was being used for the same purpose on each occasion did not render trespass the less distinct. He held therefore that the conviction was wrong.
