A Prohibition Order Case.
[By Telegraph.] (Per I'rcnH Aaaocialioii.) Oamaru, Sept. 1. Major Keddell, SAL, gave judgment to-day in cases where a publican was charged with allowing a prohibited person in his hotel. The prohibited person was charged with entering the same, and a third person was charged with accompanying a prohibited person. The information was dismissed on the ground that any licensed premises and any licensed person mentioned in the Alchoiic Liquors Act, 1895, when read with the previous Acts were restricted to such licenses and premises as were defined in a pro hibition order and did not apply generally to all licenses. The hotel implicated was outside the district and was not subject to the prohibition order.
