Accidents and Fatalities.

[By Telegraph.] (Per Press Association.) Wellington, This day. Mr W. HenneHy, chief counter clerk at the Telegraph Office here, died last night after a brief illuess. The principal cause of death was kidney disease. Deceased, who was a popular officer in the department, was 1 formerly at Auckland, Dunedin, Gisborne and Napier. Whilst engaged in bush-felling on his property, at Beatrix Bay, last week, Mr John Webb had a very narrow escape from being crushed to death. He was knocked down by a falling tree, and pinned to the ground. His sons happened to be working close at hand, and at once set to work to cut the tree away, and rescued their father, who they found had suffered no further injuries than a few bruises.
