FRANCE AND RUSSIA.
THE TWO NATIONS RESOLVE ON PEACE. A BIG EXCHANGE OF GIFTS AND HONORS. (Per Tress Association.—Copyriyht.) St. Petersburg, August 27. At the luncheon given by the Czar in honor of President Faure His Majesty said the French President's presence created a fresh bond between two friendly and allied nations, both of whom were equally resolved on peace. President Faure distributed many honors to Ministers and courtiers, as well as costly gifts. Over 800 honors have been conferred on the army and navy. The Czar and Czarina gave presents to M. Honataux and the French officers. The Czar took farewell of M. Faure aboard a Russian cruiser, the President kissing the Empress's hand. Speaking at the luncheon M. Faure referred to the graceful ayd superb welcome accorded by the Russian people. These great events established the intimate friendship between France and Russia, who were now two friehdly and allied nations, united in brotherly order. The Czar replying made complimentary allusions to France.
