Auckland Seamen's Dispute.
* BEFORE THE CONCILIATION BOARD. A BIG "DEMAND" LIST. [By Telegraph.] I Per Press A*sn<:ia(i»». > Auckland, This clay. The Board of Conciliation, comprising Rev. G. Burgess, Messrs Jno. Fawcus, W. H. Lucas, J. J. Holland, and -J. M. Shera, is sitting in the dispute between the Auckland branch of th#> Federated Sc-amens U rnon and the Northern Steamship Company, Alex. McGregor (of the Kiaora and Rose Casey), Captain Shaw (of the Terranora), Leyiand and O'Brien (owners of the Stella), and Captain Braid wood (of the Akaroa). The Union asks for an increase of ten shillings per month in the wages of lamp trimmers, able seamen, ordinnary seamen, boys and other employes (except officers) engaged on dick ; overtime, Is per hour between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. ; ws of vessels leaving port on Sundays or holidays not less that 4s per man ; when excursions are run on Sunday the whole crew to be paid overtime not to exceed 8s or less than 4s shillings per man and an increase of 30s per month : firemen, greasers, &c., engaged in the engine room and stoke hole who work 6 hour •watches the discontinuance of time off instead of overtime ; and the payment of five statutory holidays in the year.
