The Ameer of Afghanistan has issued a firman forbidding his subjects to join in tbe Jehad alleged to have been advocated in a pamphlet promulgated by the Ameer. It is believed that whatever the Ameer does he will do secretly in order to avoid an open rupture with the British. August 17. The Ameer of Afghanistan has censured the Governor of Pelalibad for having permitted the Afghans to participate in the attack on the British by the Trochi tribesmen and Shabkadar. London, August 17. Reinforcements of British troops will be despatched to India next month.
