A PUBLICAN'S LICENSE ENDORSED.

Cheistchurch, This day,
James Morkam, licensee of the Waltham Arms Hotel, was fined £5 and costs this morning for selling a bottle of beer on Sunday.
The defence was that the beer was a gift. Mr Beetham, S.M., said the case was on all fours with the case on appeal in whieh Justice Edward ruled that where a publican gave away liquor to a customer he derived an indirect benefit from it, and there was a breach of the Act. The license was ordered to be endorsed.
