THE N.Z. FOOTBALLERS.
- A DECISIVE VICTORY. (Per I'tiw Assoriati'in.—O •/'///v<//»/.) Sydney, July 31. The third match between the Maorilanders and the New South Wales reps, took place this afternoon in the presence of 27,000 spectators. The local team did not display anything like the same combination as they did on their victorious Saturday, although the alterations made were believed to have strengthened them. In the scrums the New Zealanders walked over their opponents, When time was called the New Zealanders had scored 26 points and New South Wales 3. This day. The Hera'd considers that New South Wales was never in the game on Saturday and there was absolutely no point in which the visitors were not superior, and that they had a good margin. The Telegraph says it was the severest defeat the local men ever sustained in an intercolonial match. The resnlt emphasises the contention that in the engagement of three weeks ago the visitors were done up before entering the field.
