A skeleton has been found on a mud flat at Whakatu, 28 miles distant from Aratapu, and identified as the remains of Walter Samuel Mead, drowned with his wife last October in the Northern Wairoa river. The body of the-wife was recovered at the time of tlvi Occident. Wellington, July 22. The man found dead near Kaiwarra this morning was James M'Keown, a milkman. He had several bruises on his body, proving that he had fallen over the embankment. A little girl named Agnes Lindsay fell from a swing at the Waipukurau school yesterday and broke her ai'm. On Wednesday morning Guard Cutteruek fell from the train between Marton and Munganonoho, about a mile north of Hunterville, to which latter place he was conveyed to have his injuries, which, so far as can be ascertained, were not serious, attended to. A Merivale footballer named Lester broke his collarbone on Saturday last. On Thursday Mr John Lindon, of Rangiora, met with a bad bicycle accident. He was riding on a high machine, from North Loburn in company with Mr R. Watkins, and when near the Ashley traffic bridge, the tyre of the front wheel came off, and getting into the spokes brought the machine and rider to the ground. He was rendered unconscious, and when he recovered his senses it was found that his left elbow was dislocated, his right arm badly sprained, and his knees injured.
