AN EXTAORDINARY DOCUMENT. [By Telegraph.] (Per Press Associatioh.) Christchurch, This day. Sheehan wrote a letter to Mrs Lawcock, mother of the girl murdered by him, in which he asks her forgiveness and states his willingness to pay the penalty for so grievous a crime, He concludes : —" Hoping you will not think it presumptuous of me in writing this to you. I must say lam writing this, as God is my judge, only in a full and penitent spirit. I hope you will forgive me and yours as I hope God will forgive me, and I hope to meet your daughter in Heaven, where He forgives me. Good-bye and God bless you dear madam. Hoping for your forgiveness, I remain that unfortunate man. May God forgive me."
