Captain Edwin wired this afternoon : Wind between south and east and north-east at all places; barometer further rise at all places west rvard of Thames, Tauranga and Nelson; rise soon everywhere. Unusually cold weather is to be expected northward of Thames and Manukau and decreasing wind with unusually cold weather ou the east coast between CastWpoint and East Cape, and frost tc%ight in all other parts of the country.
