The Japanese consul states there is no likelihood of extensive immigration of Japanese to Australia. Probably the Japanese Government will restrict them to Queensland sugar plantations and other places where they are not objected to. The immigration of a few thousands would do Japan no good. The Government do not want to arise any ill-feeliug in Australia over such a trilling matter.
