Paris, -June 11. A great sensation has been c-ar.sed in France by attempts upon the life of President Fa 11 re.

He was driving to Longchamps to witness the race for the Grand Prix de Paris when a roughly-made bomb, thrown from a standing crowd, exploded close to the open carriage in which the President was riding.

Taking advantage of the excitement the would-be assassin managed to make good his escape.

An examination of the remains of the bomb disclosed the fact that its construction was such as to rendei it impossible to inflict serious harm.
